PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Aug. 8, 2025) - Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility Commander Capt. Ryan McCrillis briefs congressional staff delegates on the potential site of a future waterfront production facility during a shipyard visit on Aug. 8, 2025. The facility is a proposed part of the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program, a multi-billion-dollar Navy initiative to modernize and improve infrastructure at the nation's four public naval shipyards. PHNSY & IMF’s mission is to keep the Navy’s fleet “Fit to Fight” by repairing, maintaining, and modernizing the Navy's fast-attack submarines and surface ships. Strategically located in the heart of the Pacific, it is the most comprehensive fleet repair and maintenance facility between the U.S. West Coast and the Far East. (U.S. Navy photo by Kenny Jones)
