    Sherril Kelly is presented the U.S. flag following the funeral service for her father, U.S. Army retired Lt. Col. George Kesnig, and mother, Clair Kesnig, in Section 1 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, July 28, 2025. Kelly's mother, Clair, was also inurned this day. They were married for 70 years and passed within 24 hours of each other.

    Lt. Col. Kesnig joined the Army when he was 18 years old and served for more than 24 years, fighting through World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Air Medal w/ 2 OLC.
