U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. James W. Lively, commanding general of Task Force 61/2 tours the Blue Ridge-class command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) in Gaeta, Italy, on Aug. 6, 2025. The tour provided Lively with a comprehensive overview of the ship's command and control capabilities. Task Force 61/2 is deployed in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations to advance U.S., Allied and partner interests, and support the warfighting effectiveness, lethality and readiness of U.S. Naval and Marine Corps forces in the region.
