PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Aug. 1, 2025) Sideboys render honors to Capt. Craig M. Trent, Commodore, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 1, during the arrival of the official party at the DESRON 1 change of command ceremony at the USS Arizona Memorial, Aug. 1, 2025. The DESRON 1 staff, embarked aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), is assigned to CSG-1 and holds operational control of six Arleigh Burke-class destroyers: USS Hopper (DDG 70), USS Chafee (DDG 90), USS Sterett (DDG 104) and USS Willliam P.
