This image, captured by an ERDC unmanned aerial system on March 28, shows a large vessel making its way just north of beaches on Tybee Island, Georgia as it enters the Port of Savannah channel. Shortly after this image was taken, Tanner Jernigan, a coastal engineer at ERDC’s Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, rescued three children from rough waves and surf created by the ship’s passing.
