NORFOLK, Va. (July 23, 2025) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Snailande Cornell, assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), disassembles the base of a snap edge sign, July 23. Cornell attended a Community Relations (COMREL) event to help the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center prepare for the upcoming weekend where thousands of cruise passengers and crew members will arrive and board. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled repairs in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard.
