Broad-leaved panicgrass ( Dichanthelium latifolium) growing inside the mesocosm tubs at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army Engineer and Research and Development Center. A mesocosm is a tool used by scientists to replicate a natural system under controlled conditions. This tool enables the team to develop the necessary technology to reduce phosphorus and optimize the management of watershed wetlands. The ERDC's Wetlands Team focuses on leveraging natural processes to create sustainable and impactful solutions for the warfighter and the nation. (U.S. Army Photo by Brigida I. Sanchez)
