Students gather outside a Starlab, an inflatable planetarium, during Marine Corps Systems Command’s Summer Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Camp at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., on June 17, 2025. Inside the dome, students explored constellations and celestial phenomena through a guided, immersive projection experience, designed to spark interest in astronomy and space science. More than 40 rising 6th through 9th graders participated in this year’s three-day camp, which focused on team building, creativity, and critical thinking. During the closing ceremony, several groups were recognized for their space-themed creations that included balloon-powered cars and spacecraft docking procedures.
