On 26 April 1946, COL Thomas N. Page, Medical Corps, was awarded the (British) War Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster by His Majesty King George VI.The certificate states: By the King's Order the name of COL T. N. Page, U S A was placed on record on 25 April 1946 as mentioned in dispatches for distinguished service. I am charged to express His Majesty's high appreciation. J. J. Lawson Secretary of State for War" Page served in Italy from 1943-1945 with the Allied Military Government and Initially served as regional public health officer in Region IV. Page moved to a new region headquartered at Cattolica and served both as the public health officer and senior public health officer of the British 8th Army.
