Soldier students at the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Course learn how to decontaminate and treat casualties exposed to a chemical environment. ASA Fort Dix operates the only CBRN School in the Army Reserve and conducts a monthly 80-hour resident CBRN Defense Course which certifies non-74D MOS Soldiers as CBRN Officers and Noncommissioned Officers. Skills taught to students attending the course include operation of a Company CBRN room, maintenance and operation of Company level CBRN equipment, operation of a CS Chamber, gas mask Performance Assessment Testing (PATS), and planning and execution of Battalion and Company level CBRN training events.
