Soldier students at the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Course are provided with a scenario at Timmerman Theater on ASA Fort Dix and must mark off areas which are chemically contaminated and learn decontamination processes. ASA Fort Dix operates the only CBRN School in the Army Reserve and conducts a monthly 80-hour resident CBRN Defense Course which certifies non-74D MOS Soldiers as CBRN Officers and Noncommissioned Officers. Skills taught to students attending the course include operation of a Company CBRN room, maintenance and operation of Company level CBRN equipment, operation of a CS Chamber, gas mask Performance Assessment Testing (PATS), and planning and execution of Battalion and Company level CBRN training events.
