250531-N-JM360-1005 PANMUNJEOM, South Korea (May. 31, 2025) –Detail Chinhae, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, visit the Joint Security Area (JSA) provided a rare and profound opportunity to witness the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) firsthand, offering a glimpse into the world's most heavily fortified border. Standing within the iconic blue UN Command buildings, Det Chinhae experienced the unique position where North and South Korean forces face each other across the Military Demarcation Line. NMCB-3 serves as the stand-in engineering force for Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, executing high-quality construction operations, activities, and investments, and is capable at the unit-of-action level to support major combat operations in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of operations with efficient airfield, waterfront, and advanced base construction.
