250531-N-JM360-1002 PANMUNJEOM, South Korea (May. 31, 2025) – The 19 sailors of Detail (DET) Chinhae, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, participated in a comprehensive tour of the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). This immersive experience provided them with invaluable insights into the region's complex history and geopolitical significance. Throughout the tour, the sailors engaged with expert guides and visited key sites, including the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel and Dora Observatory, to deepen their understanding of the Korean War's enduring legacy. This educational endeavor underscores DET Chinhae's commitment to fostering historical awareness and cultural competence among its personnel. NMCB-3 serves as the stand-in engineering force for Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, executing high-quality construction operations, activities, and investments, and is capable at the unit-of-action level to support major combat operations in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of operations with efficient airfield, waterfront, and advanced base construction.
