(May 6, 2025) Hospital Corpsman Second Class, Khalif Thompson, assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Fort Belvoir, provides care under fire by rapidly identifying and controlling life-threatening bleeding with a field tourniquet during an inaugural Field Training Exercise (FTX) held onboard Fort Belvoir, Virginia, May 6, 2025. The FTX provided a critical focus on combat casualty care and the rapid deployment to field medical facilities, bringing together 65 Sailors for intensive hands-on training in expeditionary medicine, directly supporting the command’s mission to “train, deploy, and sustain operationally ready forces that deliver exceptional expeditionary medical capabilities to the warfighter.” (U.S. Navy Photo by Kyle Harvey)
