Over 65 retired veterans, along with their close friends and family listened as retired marine and state meteorologist Gil Simmons spoke at Bradley International Airport on May 3, 2025. Simmons emphasized the effort to make up for a lack of positive homecoming for many of the veterans serving throughout the Korea and Vietnam conflicts in a speech. Following the ceremony, veterans boarded a flight to Washington D.C. as part of the Honor Flight Connecticut program. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Captain Jennifer Kaprielian)
