KOROR, Palau (April 1, 2025) – Lt. Nahum Melendez, left, chaplain for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, performs a baptism for Construction Mechanic 2nd Class Braden Hembd, right. Seabees assigned to Detail Palau witnessed the ceremony, strengthening the unit’s sense of unity and camaraderie. NMCB-3 serves as the stand-in engineering force for Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, executing high-quality construction operations, activities, and investments, and is capable at the unit-of-action level of supporting major combat operations in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility with efficient airfield, waterfront, and advanced base construction.
