A plaque in memory of U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jeffrey A. Borchers stands in front of Borchers Gate, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, March 12, 2025. Service members gathered to pay tribute and commemorate Borchers’ service in the U.S. Marine Corps through a remembrance ceremony to honor the ultimate sacrifice he paid 35 years ago. During the ceremony, Marines presented three leis to represent the Marine Corps’ values of honor, courage, and commitment.
