Sailors from 22nd Naval Construction Regiment (NCR), U.S. Marines, and U.S. Embassy Capo Verde staff visited the Capo Verde Armed Forces’ Operational Centre for Maritime Surveillance in Praia, Cabo Verde, during a pre-deployment site survey to assess and prepare engineering projects that will support Obangame Express 2025. 22nd NCR commands naval construction forces for Navy Expeditionary Combat Forces Europe-Africa/Task Force 68 across the 6th Fleet area of operations to defend U.S., Allied, and partner interests. Obangame Express is one of three regional maritime exercises led by U.S. Sixth Fleet as part of a comprehensive strategy to provide collaborative opportunities to African forces and international partners to address maritime security concerns.
