From 8-16 January, members of AFRICOM’s Office of Security Cooperation at the U.S Embassy in N’Djamena, Chad partnered with the Ministry of Health and the Chadian security forces to conduct humanitarian missions in the towns of Mondou, Komé, Doba, and Sarh. The missions were conducted at the security force camps in each province. More than 6500 men, women, and children received anti-malaria and de-worming medications provided by the U.S. Department of Defense. The support provided by the MoH and Chadian Army highlighted the importance Chad places on decreasing the number of malaria cases throughout the civilian population. These bilateral missions demonstrate the importance and strength of our civil-military cooperation and directly benefit the Chadian populace.
