A U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base's 335th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, moves in to receive fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker from Fairchild Air Force Base's 92nd Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron prior to exercise Yellow Sands 24.5 over the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, July 30, 2024. The F-15E is an all-weather, extremely maneuverable, tactical fighter designed to allow the Air Force to gain and maintain air supremacy over the CENTCOM area of responsibility and provide security to ground forces conducting counter-violent extremist operations. The F-15E played a key role in exercise Yellow Sands, a combined integrated air and missile defense exercise focused on the defense of the Arabian Peninsula.
