U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Gage Huckaby, KC-135 Stratotanker boom operator, from Fairchild Air Force Base's 92nd Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron, extends the boom of a KC-135 refueling system prior to contact over the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, July 30, 2024. Huckaby provided fuel to U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles participating in Exercise Yellow Sands 24.5. The "Sands" exercise series supports the coalition's Integrated Air and Missile Defense Posture and it serves to enhance theater security cooperation, information sharing and command and control in a contested environment.
