Dr. Annette Rodriguez, with Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio, receives a second-place award for her poster presentation at the 2024 Military Health System Research Symposium in Kissimmee, Florida, Aug. 29. Her poster was titled, “Pirfenidone Inhibits Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition and Modulates Growth Factor/Cytokine Secretion in Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Retinal Pigment Epithelium During Wound Healing Secretion.” Dr. Terry Rauch, executive director of health readiness policy and oversight and director of research and development with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, presented the awards.
