Members of the AFCEC team standby prior to the dedication ceremony for the new Air Force Civil Engineer Center Heritage Wall ribbon-cutting event on Aug 29, 2024, at Joint Base San-Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Brig. Gen. Patrick Miller, AFCEC commander, hosted the ceremony and provided remarks prior to the unveiling. In October 2012, a bold initiative was launched by the Air Force to revolutionize how the civil engineer enterprise backs Air Force installations, as this would establishment AFCEC. Since its inception, AFCEC has taken charge to drive the transformation during this dynamic period, demonstrating that centralization is not only feasible but also crucial and beneficial to the Air Force's capacity to carry out missions effectively, strengthening installations, and enhancing combat power.
