Brig. Gen. Patrick Miller, Air Force Civil Engineer Center commander, provides opening remarks during the unveiling of the new AFCEC Heritage Wall through a small ribbon-cutting event on Aug 29, 2024, at Joint Base San-Antonio-Lackland, Texas. In October 2012, a bold initiative was launched by the Air Force to revolutionize how the civil engineer enterprise backs Air Force installations, as this would establishment AFCEC. Since its inception, AFCEC has taken charge to drive the transformation during this dynamic period, demonstrating that centralization is not only feasible but also crucial and beneficial to the Air Force's capacity to carry out missions effectively, strengthening installations, and enhancing combat power.
