U.S. Navy Sailors, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, and U.S. Marines, assigned to 7th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB), build walls with concrete blocks on April 12, 2024, on Palawan, Philippines. NMCB 4 and 7 ESB were tasked with building Taritien Elementary School to increase local access to education. NMCB 4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region to support and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific. As the stand-in, crisis response, naval engineering force, NMCB 4 maintains a ready posture to deliver in-theater expeditionary logistics via expeditionary shore infrastructure, forward damage repair, and mobile construction.
