From January through March 2024, University of Illinois Chicago Center for the Recovery and Identification of the Missing (UIC-CRIM), partner of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), conducted excavations of a possible World War II plane crash in an effort to recover U.S. aircrew lost in the Republic of the Philippines.
