Fish caught during surveys are measured tip to tail and recorded on a data sheet by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Surveys are conducted periodically on the Mississippi River below the Melvin Price Locks and Dam in Alton, IL. The St. Louis District Rivers Project Office partners with the Missouri Department of Conservation to improve native fish habitat.
