A team of artisans and engineers at Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) recently developed and refined a new procedure for checking an H-53 spar fitting’s mount feet for excessive gaps, improving the manner in which the aircraft’s spar fittings are evaluated for fit and resulting in a higher acceptance rate and faster turnaround times for the components. Team members included, from left, Amy White, an aircraft examiner; Paul Guthrie, sheet metal work leader, H-53 Aircraft Components Shop; Jason Gaskill, H-53 airframe production support engineer; and Michael Wells and Shevaun Jones, sheet metal workers in the H-53 Aircraft Components Shop.
