U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Todd Wasmund, commanding general of the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), returns a salute to French army Maj. Matthieu Maillet of the 3rd Division after awarding him the U.S. Army Commendation Medal during a ceremony at the 3rd Div. headquarters, French army, in Marseille, France, March 22, 2024. Maillet received the award for exceptional service while serving as the military assistant to Wasmund during his time as the first U.S. general officer to serve as deputy commander of a French division.
