SAN DIEGO (Jan. 25, 2024) - Chief Hospital Corpsman Shiva Giri, a native of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and assigned to Next Generation Diagnostic System proficiency testing team with Naval Medical Research Command, observes Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Emma Jones, a native of Laguna Hills, California, assigned to USS Boxer (LHD 4) in the ship’s medical lab during biological warfare confirmatory detection training. This training is intended to enhance Boxer’s ability to properly handle samples from suspected biological attacks and to provide accurate, expedited results to best preserve the health and readiness of shipboard personnel.
