SAN DIEGO (Jan. 25, 2024) - Chief Hospital Corpsman Shiva Giri, right, a native of Gaithersburg, Maryland, assigned to Next Generation Diagnostic System proficiency testing team with Naval Medical Research Command and Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Holly Glon, a native of Mishawaka, Indiana, assigned to Fleet Surgical Team 5, observe biological warfare confirmatory detection training to shipboard medical lab technicians aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4). This training is intended to enhance Boxer’s ability to properly handle samples from suspected biological attacks and to provide accurate, expedited results to best preserve the health and readiness of shipboard personnel.
