Servicemembers and civilians participating in the Socom Athlete's Hell Day event, conduct water confidene training at a local pool facility, this past veterans day, 2023. Just one of many segments for the , the water confidence training, even if participants dont plan on entering a branch where that is a heavy factor, provides the opportunity to perform under extreme duress in a safe environment.
The program, founded by Jason Sweets, a former Air Force Special Operations Paratrooper, is designed to help realistically prepare those interested in a career in special operations for passing the selection processes held by each military branch's special operations command.
The Florida Army National Guard's own 3rd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group, partnered with socom athlete and had soldiers from the unit participating as instructors. Participants had the opportunity to be motivated by and speak with actual Green Berets on how to better prepare for the Army's Special Forces Readiness Evaluation, an event that will be held this December at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, in Starke, FL.
