A participant in the Socom Athlete Hell Day Event crawls nearly 60 meters to the water at Dania Beach, this past veterans day weekend, 2023, after finishing an already taxing exercise circuit. The program, founded and run by Jason Sweets, a former Air Force Special Operations Paratrooper, is designed to put particpants through the rigors that they'll experience when trying out at the various selction events for special forces, regardless of branch.
The Florida Army National Guard's own 3rd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group sent soldiers down to support the event as instructors, and so they could motivate and inform candidates on what will be required of them to pass the army's Special Forces Readiness Evaluation. The next SFRE event is this december at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, Starke, FL. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Spencer Rhodes)
