Sailors assigned to the forward deployed Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63) launch a rigid hull inflatable boat from the port side boat deck to recover two recoverable exercise torpedoes that were launched by helicopters from the "Warlords" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 51 just before sunset. Cowpens is part of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group, the US Navy's only forward deployed carrier strike group based out of Yokosuka, Japan and is currently conducting a routine Western Pacific patrol.
