Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Brandon Fist fires the shot line from the port side of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63) to the Military Sealift Command's fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Ericsson (T-AO 194) during an underway replenishment. Cowpens is part of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group, the U.S. Navy's only forward deployed carrier strike group, based out of Yokosuka, Japan, and is conducting a routine Western Pacific patrol.
