David Flores, a former U.S. Army Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment and a member of a long-range reconnaissance patrol (LRRP) team during the Vietnam War, pinpoints where he served in Vietnam during a visit to the Cold War exhibit at the National Museum of the U.S. Army on Fort Belvoir, Va., Sept. 6, 2023. Medal of Honor recipient former U.S. Army Capt. Larry L. Taylor helped to provide aerial cover for Flores’ LRRP team multiple times during combat missions in Vietnam. Taylor was awarded the Medal of Honor on Sept. 5, 2023, at the White House for his acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty while serving as then-1st Lt.
