U.S. Marine Corps Pfc. Aiden Wisham, bulk fuel specialist, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, lifts a hose from a hose reel base unit at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Aug. 30, 2023. Sgt. John Evans, a bulk-fuel specialist with 7th ESB, 1st MLG, designed a device enabling a single Marine to safely stow and unreel water and fuel hoses during field operations, alleviating the traditional requirements of a four-person team. Evans, a native of Union Star, Missouri, designed the reel to significantly improve safety, efficiency, and meet the demands of the field environment. Wisham is a native of Cairo, Georgia.
