HMS Blyth (M 111) participates in a Combined Maritime Forces mine countermeasure exercise in the Persian Gulf, March 1. Blyth, HMS Ramsey (MN 110), USS Scout (MCM 8), Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 15, Combined Task Force 56 Explosive Ordinance Disposal divers and Kuwaiti navy divers conducted a mine countermeasure exercise Feb. 26 - March 6 to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationship between the coalition nations. Coalition sea services operate across the full spectrum of operations to include mine countermeasure capabilities, a key element of maritime security operations. MSO help set the conditions for security, which promotes stability and global prosperity in the maritime environment and complements the counterterrorism and security efforts of regional nations.
