A wall at the entrance to the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial (MACM) “Walls of the Missing” memorial, reads “Here are recorded the names of Americans who gave their lives in the service of their country and who sleep in unknown graves. 1941-1945”, March 7, 2023.. Due to recovery efforts by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, its predecessor organizations, and with the assistance of the American Battle Monuments Commission, certain names share their spaces with a rosette, signifying that they have been recovered and identified.
