Members with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), fold a U.S. flag at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial (MACM) processing center in Manila, Philippines, Feb. 28, 2023. MACM, which is ran by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC), is the temporary resting place of over 3,200 unknown servicemembers. DPAA in conjunction with ABMC, has disinterred over 500 of these unknowns and transported them back to DPAA facilities at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii to begin the identification process.
