    Misawa upgrades to AESA radar

U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Josh Plocinski, 13th Fighter Squadron fighter pilot, taxis to the runway in an F-16 Fighting Falcon fitted with a new active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar upgrade at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Dec. 5, 2022. The 35th Fighter Wing is the second unit in the Air Force to incorporate upgraded AESA technology into the F-16. The new upgrade increases the wing’s operational capabilities and directly supports Indo-Pacific Command’s mission to maintain regional stability and support a free and open Indo-Pacific region (U.S. Air
