Dearth’s grandfather served aboard USS Leyte (CV 32) and he asked Ronald Reagan Sailors to sign the cruise book as a way of honoring his grandfather’s memory. “Vertical Horizon” performed for the crew as part of a tour organized by Navy Entertainment, which provides Sailors with quality entertainment while overseas and on deployed ships at sea. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
