Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) Sgt. Kaito Harada, with the Central Nuclear Biological Chemical Defense Unit, demonstrates discharging a gas mask at Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command in Zambales, Philippines, Oct. 3, 2022, during KAMANDAG 6. The class was intended to exchange knowledge of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear tactics and procedures between JGSDF and the U.S. and Philippine Marine Corps. KAMANDAG is an annual, bilateral exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen interoperability, capabilities, trust and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
