U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Richard Bittry, from Los Angeles, California, assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 174, Marine Aircraft Group 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, operates a plate compactor to compress gravel during an airfield damage repair exercise as part of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) 1-23 course, at Canon Air Defense Complex (P111), near Yuma, Arizona, on Oct. 1, 2022. WTI is a seven-week training event hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One, providing standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine aviation training and readiness, and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
