Lago Guayo, after the Hurricane Fiona a Category-1 cyclone. The cyclone left over 30 inches of rain in some areas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica (AEE) inspect the Lago Guayo Dam, Castañer, after the passing of Hurricane Fiona. Lago Guayo Dam is one of the 37 dams around the Island. USACE and AEE are partners to ensure that structures such as the Lago Guayo Dam are monitored and inspected as a part of our overall Dam Safety program. Life safety is our number one priority.
