220807-N-XB010-1013 PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 7, 2022) Corporal Roberto Mendez, from Watha, N.C., assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), stands armed lookout aboard the expeditionary mobile base USS Miguel Keith (ESB-5) during a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) training evolution. New Orleans, part of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
