220807-N-XB010-1012 PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 7, 2022) Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class David Guerra, from San Antonio, Texas, center, and Quartermaster 3rd Class Myajeanette Abreu, from Lowell, Mass., part of the Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) team aboard the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) receive a brief from Capt. Paul Roche, force reconnaissance team commander from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), aboard the Expeditionary Mobile Base USS Miguel Keith (ESB-5) during a training evolution. New Orleans, part of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
