KINGS BAY, Ga. (July 14, 2022) U.S. Navy and partner countries’ Navy submariners pose for a photo in front of the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Alaska (SSBN 732) homeported at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia. The visit is part of the Diesel Electric Submarine Initiative (DESI) between the United States and partner nations. DESI is a program designed to train crews and test capabilities in Anti-Submarine Warfare between nuclear-powered and diesel-electric submarines.
