KINGS BAY, Ga. (July. 14, 2022) Rear Adm. John Spencer, Commander, Submarine Group Ten (left) and Cmdr. John Smith, commanding officer of USS Alaska (SSBN 732) Blue Crew (center), brief Vice Adm. Juan Ricardo Rozo, Commander, Caribbean Naval Force, on the capabilities of Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarines. The visit is part of the Diesel Electric Submarine Initiative (DESI) between the United States and partner nations. DESI is a program designed to train crews and test capabilities in Anti-Submarine Warfare between nuclear-powered and diesel-electric submarines.
