KINGS BAY, Ga. (July 14, 2022) Vice Adm. Juan Ricardo Rozo, Commander, Caribbean Naval Force, presents a gift to Cmdr. John Smith, commanding officer of the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Alaska (SSBN 732) Blue Crew (right), during a visit aboard the ship. The visit to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia was part of the Diesel Electric Submarine Initiative (DESI) between the United States and partner nations. DESI is a program designed to train crews and test capabilities in Anti-Submarine Warfare between nuclear-powered and diesel-electric submarines.
